About Bob Confer:
I’m the VP of the family business, Confer
Plastics, Inc. which has two facilities located in North Tonawanda and
Niagara Falls, New York. The company has been in operation since 1973. I
work with 150 great people and we make a wide variety of products ranging
from consumer goods to industrial products to national defense items. All
of our products are proudly made in the USA and are sold all over the world.

Since July of 2005 I have written a weekly opinion column for the four
newspapers that make up the Greater Niagara Newspapers in Niagara & Orleans
counties in Western New York. These columns look at issues in government and
economics (local, state, national, and international) with a common sense
approach, focusing on small government and personal & economic liberty (and
responsibility!). You can read all of my columns on this website.
In a similar vein, since July of 2009 I have written a weekly column for the
online and print versions of the New American which is the official magazine
of the John Birch Society. These columns, national and international in
scale, follow the same approach I take with my newspaper columns and fit
nicely with the Society's mission of "Less Government, More Responsibility,
and — With God's Help — a Better World." You can read these columns on this

Since 2007 I have delivered “the Albany
Update” on the talk show “Dialog” on WLVL. In that 15-minute spot that runs
every Monday at 11:15 AM I discuss what’s happening in New York state
government and what impact it will have on the residents and businesses of
the Empire State. This broadcast is done in a style slightly different from
that of the mainstream media: I look at things not in the news in the moment
but things that will be in the news weeks and months down the road. If you
live in the Niagara Falls, NY region you can catch it on air at 1340 AM.
