LIVING THE CANADIAN DREAM

30 June 2014

459

AMERICA’S TRUCKING CRISIS

458

09 June 2014

The Department of Environmental Conservation is looking to expand bear hunting to all parts of New York, including Niagara and Orleans County. In this column, I ask that they don’t

457

SUFFERING FROM CONSTITUTIONAL SELECTIVITY

26 May 2014

If we spend too much time and effort focusing on just one part of the Bill of Rights, we could lose our rights to free speech, self defense, privacy, due process of law and self government just by being too selective or self-centered in our needs.

456

ECONOMIC CANNIBALISM: DEVELOPERS EAT THEIR OWN

19 May 2014

To make economic development work properly government agencies need to drop the blinders and parochialism and approach things with a collective or regional view and ask two critical questions: Who wins? Who loses? They’d be surprised by the answers.

455

SAY “NO” TO THE CWM EXPANSION

12 May 2014

CWM has plans in the works to create a new 43.5-acre landfill just to the west of their current one in  Niagara County. I ask citizens to write the DEC to say “no”

454

MICROBEADS ARE A DANGER TO THE ENVIRONMENT

05 May 2014

Most people would think that because my livelihood is based in plastics I’d toe the industry line and wax poetic on the economic and social virtues of plastics of all sorts. This is not always the case. As a producer of durables that are supposed to last a lifetime, I can’t help but view the manufacture and use of many disposables – especially microbeads -- as being questionable.

453

WHERE ARE THE VOLUNTEERS?

28 Apr 2014

The Corporation for National and Community Service and the National Conference on Citizenship produce an annual report that looks at volunteerism rates across the nation. The Empire State ranks 50th, with just 20.6% of its residents volunteering.

452

The modified Clean Water Act would extend federal jurisdiction would be extended to all bodies of water – permanent or intermittent – everywhere in the United States, be they in your backyard or on your farm. The federal definition will be extended to include, among other things, streams, wetlands, sloughs, wet meadows, ponds and ditches.

451

DON’T GO SOFT ON TEENAGE CRIMINALS

14 Apr 2014

Assembly bill A.3668 and Senate bill S.1409, sponsored by Joe Lentol and Valmanette Montgomery respectively, would raise the age of criminal responsibility to 18, an affront to justice

450

TAX REFUNDS ARE NO REASON TO BE HAPPY

07 Apr 2014

A strange thing tends to happen this time of year: taxpayers who should be damning the government end up praising it. These brainwashed souls, numbering in the millions, feel rewarded by what appears to be government benevolence in the form of a tax refund, failing to realize that they are getting back only a little of the money that was rightfully theirs to begin with.

449

RUSSIA ON RIGHT SIDE OF CRIMEA ISSUE

24 Mar 2014

I hate Russia, but I am not afraid to admit when they are right, as they are with Crimea

448

CUOMO’S INACTIVITY LEADS TO PROPANE WOES

17 Mar 2014

For four and a half years now, state officials have been sitting on an application to repurpose abandoned salt mines in Reading for storage of liquefied propane, making prices high and supplies low in New York

447

VETERANS TAX EXEMPTIONS MAKE FOR UNEASY SCHOOL BOARDS

03 Mar 2014

School boards have to tread a fine line when it comes to tax exemptions for veterans --- do they extend them or not, in one case offending all taxpayers and vets in the other

446

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

24 Feb 2014

This column looks at the importance of the BSA to society

445

MOVE NEW YORK’S PRIMARIES TO JUNE

17 Feb 2014

The state could save millions by combing state and federal primaries in June, rather than having them in separate months

444

NY COULD SOON TAX THE SCOUTS

03 Feb 2014

NY is looking at capping the amount of land that non-profits can claim as tax-free, which puts scout camps right in their sights

443

NY BILL WOULD MANDATE PARENTING CLASSES

27 Jan 2014

A bill was submitted to the New York Senate’s Education Committee that would pose a significant attack on parental rights. S142-2013 would require persons in parental relation with a child of elementary school age to attend parent support programs and complete four workshops, one of which must be related to physical, emotional and sexual abuse of children.

442

CRONY CAPITALISM: OPENING THE GATES TO COMMON CORE

20 Jan 2014

The series on Common Core concludes with a deep look at the money Bill Gates has put into Common Core – and why

441

WHAT COMMON CORE MEANS TO EDUCATION’S STAKEHOLDERS

13 Jan 2014

It’s been made evident over the course of this series that Common Core is an unwelcome addition to our educational system – it’s an all-out assault on classroom performance, individual privacy, and America’s competitive position in the global economy. To further this analysis, let’s briefly look at the impacts Common Core is having and will have on key stakeholders. Part seven of eight

440

BIG BROTHER IN THE CLASSROOM

06 Jan 2014

When the federal government created a grant program for the development and institution of so-called Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems, the National Center for Education Statistics – an arm of the US Department of Education – issued a document detailing the goals of the program and what is expected from participating states. Some of the items requested are very private in nature. Part six of eight

439

COMMON CORE & YOUR FAMILY’S DATA

22 Dec 2013

Parents across the country have raised a stink about the data-mining associated with Common Core. The thinking is that detailed school history – especially with the finer nuances included - is just as sensitive as an individual’s medical records and should be treated with the same dignity. Part Five of eight

438

COMMON CORE STIFLES CREATIVITY

15 Dec 2013

Common Core’s original plan was to divide the eighth grade curriculum along the lines of 55% nonfiction and 45% fiction. That isn’t what is being enforced. Nor is it what students and teachers alike are being graded on. Last year’s Grade 8 ELA test was 79% nonfiction and 21% fiction, a far cry from what was sold to the schools. Part Four of eight

437

WHO’S BEHIND THE COMMON CORE STANDARDS?

09 Dec 2013

This column looks at Achieve, Inc…the folks behind the Common Core standards. Part Three of eight

436

COMMON CORE: MORE OF THE SAME

02 Dec 2013

The Common Core State Standards (simply known as “Common Core”) are only a continuation of the status quo. American students and educators will be besieged by more standardized tests and, in essence, more standardized classrooms and more standardized students. Common Core will be the catalyst for mediocrity. Part Two of eight

435

AN INTRODUCTION TO COMMON CORE

25 Nov 2013

One of the hottest issues of the last half of 2013 has been Common Core. I’m sure you’ve read or watched numerous reports about how parents and teachers are fired up about the latest and allegedly greatest attempt to redefine education and develop a world-class workforce and well-versed society. Part One of eight

434

ALLOW FARMERS, HUNTERS TO EXTERMINATE FERAL HOGS

18 Nov 2013

The DEC was given power to regulate all things feral hogs and officials are now weighing a ban on the hunting of the animals. Outright prohibition of hog harvesting would be one of the worst things that the DEC could do for farming and the very environment it is charged to protect.

433

THE HIGH COST OF A TWO-INCOME HOUSEHOLD

11 Nov 2013

Pop culture, mass media and academia make it seem that every household must have two breadwinners while subtly implying that any family that doesn’t is socially unacceptable. It’s a silly way to look at things, because if you step back and really take a look at finances of families, the second full-time income really doesn’t work for most of them. It’s only an allusion that it improves their lot in life.

432

THE FOOD SAFETY MODERNIZATION ACT

04 Nov 2013

Using fear as a tactic to gain control over personal food freedom and agriculture, President Barack Obama in 2011 signed into law the Food Safety Modernization Act, claiming that it would prevent the spread of E. coli, Mad Cow disease and the like by empowering the Food and Drug Administration to regulate every facet of a farm’s or food facility’s operations.

431

A LOOK AT PROPOSITIONS 2, 3, & 6

28 Oct 2013

This week marks the conclusion to my 3-part series breaking down the 6 statewide propositions that New Yorkers will have a chance to vote on this November.

430

A LOOK AT PROPOSITIONS 4 & 5

21 Oct 2013

Items 4 and 5 on November’s ballots are focused on issues in the Adirondacks.

429

A LOOK AT PROPOSITION ONE

14 Oct 2013

This November there will be 6 statewide propositions on New York ballots. Over the next 3 weeks, I will give you the background – and my two cents – on each, so you can go to the polls prepared to make an informed decision rather than being caught off guard by what’s on the screen before you.

The first of the ballot items is also the most well-known and, for some, the most controversial of the bunch. Prop 1 would allow for the creation of 7 casinos across the state, including 4 in Upstate.

428

NON-ESSENTIAL PARTS OF OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

07 Oct 2013

In the weeks leading up to the so-called government shutdown we were led to believe that the Apocalypse was upon us. Not surprisingly, when it did hit, the Niagara River kept flowing, the winds didn’t stop, and, magically, the Earth kept spinning. As a matter of fact, a great majority of Americans have been mostly unaffected by the shutdown. It shows that a smaller federal government is alright.

427

OBAMACARE & CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE

30 Sept 2013

Chambers of commerce -- and the businesses they promote and protect -- will suffer under Obamacare. Some chambers that rely on individual and family health insurance as a means of survival will die. Businesses, in turn, will do the same as their very best advertiser and cheerleader goes silent.

426

BUGS: THEY’RE WHAT’S FOR DINNER

23 Sept 2013

This summer featured an explosion in the cicada population across the northeast. You couldn’t help but notice as the trees were alive with their incessant mating calls. Upon hearing that ringing tone, how many of you salivated like Pavlov’s dog, hungering for a dishful of the little buggers? I hope that none of you did. But, if the United Nations had its way, everyone would.

425

NEW YORK’S GOOSE PROBLEM

16 Sept 2013

It’s obvious to everyone but the most ardent animal lovers that we have a serious problem on our hands with the monstrous Canada goose population. There are now so many resident geese that they have become as ubiquitous and unpopular as ring-billed gulls (“sea gulls”), birds that many people unaffectionately consider flying rats. Unlike gulls, which tend to be an obstacle only to development (see Lockport’s Super WalMart), resident geese pose real problems to the environment, the economy, and human safety.

424

LEGALIZE CELL PHONE JAMMING DEVICES

09 Sept 2013

What a wonderful world it would be if restaurateurs could maintain civility in their dining rooms, teachers could teach attentive students, and workers could commit themselves to the task at hand – all courtesy of cell phone jammers.

423

EASE THE TAX GROWTH ON FARMERS

02 Sept 2013

The tax burden placed upon farmers is mammoth,--- New York farmers pay an average of $38.41 per farm acre. The growth in this number can be slowed down with a cap on ag assessments

422

FARM LIVING IS THE LIFE FOR ME

26 Aug 2013

I quite often get into discussions with folks from the Big City (Amherst/Williamsville) who wonder why I choose to live in rural Eastern Niagara County which is, in their eyes, so far away from everything. In this column, I explain how we aren’t

421

OBAMA SHOULD FOCUS ON ENERGY & PEOPLE

19 Aug 2013

There are some big concepts and big ideas that I hope Obama – and other elected officials – emphasize in both talk and action when he comes to WNY later this week

420

JACLYN SMITH & THE DEATH OF KMART

05 Aug 2013

Why can’t Sears Holding, a conglomerate possessed of two once-beloved chains, hang with the Wal-Marts, Targets, and Home Depots of the world? The answer: Look no further than Jaclyn Smith.

419

BE THANKFUL FOR FIRE & EMS VOLUNTEERS

29 July 2013

Thank a volunteer for what he or she has done. Maybe he helped you during the storm. Maybe he pulled you from a wrecked car. Maybe she stopped a fire from destroying your home. If they didn’t do any of the above for you specifically, thank them anyways; for it’s reassuring to know that they’re always ready at a moment’s notice to be there for you when you really need them.

418

IN DEFENSE OF STAND YOUR GROUND

22 July 2013

Stand Your Ground is one of the clearest state-level interpretations of some of the basal tenets behind our Second Amendment. Were the states to eliminate it — and further restrict our rights — it would take Duty to Retreat to a whole new level: Duty to Die.

417

COMPETITION UNDER THE EMPLOYER MANDATE

15 July 2013

After using health insurance as a competitive tool for more than 70 years, market sectors and employers that had rewarded talent -- and found it and kept it -- will no longer be able to do so with those methods. Under the employer mandate, those once-differentiated employers will be no different than anyone else.

416

WHAT IS THE GUN CULTURE?

08 July 2013

The common use of the phrase “gun culture” is a logically and morally bankrupt stereotype that incorrectly emphasizes the statistically-limited misuse of guns to paint the 99.91 percent of gun owners as corrupted souls just one bad day away from unleashing mass shootings of their own.

It’s silly because the true “gun culture”, which I proudly admit to being a part of, is so different than that posed by the supposed intellectuals of our time.

415

GIVE EX-CRIMINALS A CHANCE

01 July 2013

Earlier this year I took a group of local organizational leaders on a tour of the factory after which I told them that a quarter of our machine operators have what would be considered colorful criminal backgrounds; some had lengthy stays in prison while others are or were under probation.

This was a shock to the tour group because back in their workplaces – and in many throughout America – hiring of former criminals just isn’t something that’s done.

414

GOVERNMENT ENGINEERS NEED TRAINING

24 June 2013

Engineers who work for the State of New York, its public authorities and local governments and were employed by such entities as of December 31, 2003 are excluded from the training requirement. So, unlike their private sector brethren, the long-tenured government engineers are not required to make themselves better or learn the intricacies of, or new developments in, their chosen career path.

This disconnect is not only an insult to the licensed engineers in the private sector, but it is also an insult to our citizens.

413

OBAMACARE: THE GREAT UNKNOWN

17 June 2013

I consider myself fairly versed on the nuances of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (a.k.a Obamacare). I’ve studied the Act for years (even before its adoption), given lectures to local community groups about it, and written about it in these pages and elsewhere.

Despite such engagement, I still don’t know anything. There are so many ill-devised facets of Obamacare that questions abound about their impact, let alone their implementation.

412

VOUCHERS FOR MEDICAID

10 June 2013

How do we change Medicaid and New York State for the better? There is a very simple means to do so, one that would be a win-win for both sides of the aisle (those who demand cost cutting and those fearful of hurting Medicaid recipients): Dissolve New York’s Medicaid system and redirect Medicaid funding to the purchase of private, not public, medical insurance. Call it a Medicaid voucher system if you will.

411

FREE A.C. FOR SMOKERS

03 June 2013

It used to be that air conditioning was considered a luxury. It seems, though, our benevolent state and federal governments have turned that thinking on its head. Somehow, over time, AC has become a necessity, a basic human need --- for mostly those who created their health problems with their own foolish decision to smoke.

410

WHEN WILL THE COLLEGE BUBBLE BURST? PART TWO

27 May 2013

Like the housing bubble and the internet bubble that preceded it, the higher education bubble will see its false prosperity come to an end in the coming years. Unlike them, it won’t pop with violence that will send the economy into a deadly tailspin. Instead, it will crack and its contents will escape gradually, having a collection of harmful -- and even helpful -- effects on the economy.

409

WHEN WILL THE COLLEGE BUBBLE BURST? PART ONE

20 May 2013

The bursting of the housing bubble was the unquestioned cause of the Great Recession. Our economy still hasn’t recovered a half-decade later and likely won’t before the decade closes. If the ship is ever righted to the heights that we remember, it won’t be long before another bubble is ready to burst; on the horizon is one that has numerous characteristics eerily similar to the housing market’s -- It’s none other than the college bubble.

408

US SLOW TO REACT TO HONEY BEE DEATHS

13 May 2013

It was determined over the past couple of years, by independent studies released in prominent journals like Science and Nature, that the root cause of honey bee deaths was the family of pesticides known as neonicotinoids. Unlike Canada and the EU, the US federal government hasn’t put a plan into effect to right the wrongs

407

CELEBRATE YOUR TAX FREEDOM DAY

06 May 2013

Monday, May 6th is a holiday of sorts for the workingperson – it’s Tax Freedom Day in New York. It’s the day that you can finally go about working for your own personal needs and interests like feeding your family, paying your mortgage, saving for your retirement, or helping your kid through college. Prior to that, every day that you worked this year covered your tax obligations and nothing else.

406

CHOOSE A TRADE OVER COLLEGE; PART TWO

29 Apr 2013

Part Two looks at the excellent job prospects that face three tradespeople – machinists, nurses, and truck drivers – and how their prospects rival those of young college educated people

405

CHOOSE A TRADE OVER COLLEGE; PART ONE

22 Apr 2013

A conversation that I regularly have with parents of high schoolers centers on the job market that their children will enter. The post-recession economy is tough enough for mom and dad, so they can’t help but wonder what might be the best path of study for their kids to pursue in college and, in turn, what sort of career should they prepare for to ensure a comfortable adulthood. It’s to the point now that in those conversations I deemphasize the importance of college and suggest that parents inspire their teens to go after a career that is not predicated on a college degree.

404

A BABY KILLER GETS A FREE PASS

15 Apr 2013

How did baby butcher Kermit Gosnell’s acts – fit for our macabre media --  become a footnote in the press? The reason is simple: The press, policy makers, and a good number of citizens have a love affair with abortion.

403

A POLICE STATE FOR THE POLICE STATE

08 Apr 2013

The North Tonawanda Police Department recently joined numerous police forces nationwide that equip their officers with video cameras. The Patrol Division is now mandated to use an On-Officer Video Recording System during all law enforcement encounters with the public. It’s a disconcerting development, because with these almost incognito cameras attached to their lapels or breastplates, police will have a mobile police state – a portable Big Brother – with them on patrol, not only on the streets, but in your homes as well.

402

DON’T EXPAND THE BOBCAT HUNT

01 Apr 2013

I find it odd that the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has proposed rules that will open up more bobcat hunting and trapping. Once confined to the Adirondacks and the Catskills, the DEC would like to expand the harvest to the Southern Tier, in all counties along the Pennsylvania border.

401

STOP THE SATELLITE TV TAX

25 Mar 2013

NY Senator Kevin Parker (D-Brooklyn), was pondering the addition of an excise tax on direct broadcast satellite services. His 5% fee is pretty significant and ill-advised

400

GOVERNMENT LURED BY PLASTICS WORMS

18 Mar 2013

Never one to ignore the concerns or demands of environmentalists – no matter how extreme or unfounded some of their views may be – government has picked up on the alleged ills of plastic baits. In Maine, state representative Paul Davis introduced a bill (HP 37) on January 17th that would ban the use of “rubber worms” (the catch-all term for soft plastics baits) within the state.

399

WHEN THE SKY RAINS STARLINGS

11 Mar 2013

In incidents that seem to have become rites of winter throughout the northeast, rural residents living within a couple of miles of large dairy farms were recently subjected to an odd, even frightening, sight – starlings literally falling out of the sky and dying before them. When the carnage concluded, homeowners found dozens of the birds dead in their lawns.

398

CONFER PLASTICS OPEN HOUSE

04 Mar 2013

Confer Plastics will be having an open house on April 4th, celebrating our 40 years of business. In this column, I invite my readers to attend

397

BUEHRLE SHOULDN’T PUT DOG AHEAD OF FAMILY

25 Feb 2013

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Mark Buehrle has been considered a hero by MANY for deciding to live in Toronto -- 800 miles away from his family -- so they don't have to give up their pit bull mix (illegal in Ontario). I, on the other hand, see nothing heroic about abandoning a young family for an animal.

396

LEGALIZE STUN GUNS IN NEW YORK

18 Feb 2013

Since New York is so keen on over-regulating handguns, why not eliminate the obstacles that prevent New Yorkers from owing stun guns?

395

THE SMOKING BAN – 10 YEARS LATER

11 Feb 2013

2013 will mark the 10-year anniversary of the institution of the New York State Clean Indoor Air Act, otherwise known as the smoking ban. For a decade now, smokers have been treated as second-class citizens and cannot engage in the act without having to venture out into the elements.

Smokers and those who want to cater to them should be treated more fairly under state law, because smoking (or the lack thereof) is – and should be - a choice freely made by the individual, be it a property owner, the smoker, or the non-smoker.

394

VOUCHERS FOR VETERANS

04 Feb 2013

We owe our vets much for their service to us, the least of which is premium healthcare. The best way to achieve this is through some sort of voucher system, whereby veterans would receive government-funded insurance or their providers would receive publically-paid reimbursement. It’s a simple concept that would allow the vets to escape the ills of the VA system while pursuing the best care at some of America’s best facilities.

393

BUSINESSES DESERVE MORE RESPECT

28 Jan 2013

Much like those who stereotype based upon race, ethnicity, or culture, individuals –and, oddly enough, businesses -- railing against businesses are suffering from a form of prejudice. They lump together all corporations – small and large, good and bad - assuming they all have the mindset possessed by the well-known, yet very small number of large, corrupted companies that have soured peoples’ opinions.

392

NEW YORK’S ANTI-GUN CULTURE

21 Jan 2013

For all the bad of Governor Cuomo’s gun legislation, realize that demonization of gun owners and mutation of the Second Amendment is the culture within New York. Cuomo is only guilty of making matters worse (albeit far worse).

391

STOP TAX BREAKS FOR POLITICAL CHURCHES

14 Jan 2013

Most churches do a fantastic job of staying within the boundaries of the tax code while others tread a fine line between educating and lobbying. But, as we’ve seen in recent years, more and more churches are breaking the law with vigor and becoming fully involved in both policy and politics.

390

MURDER OF THE CHILDREN: THE AMERICAN WAY

07 Jan 2013

This week's column is probably considered to be highly controversial: I make the claim that we shouldn't be turning in or restricting access to guns because of the Newtown Massacre because the same government that cites the moral high road is the government that has directly or indirectly contributed to the death of millions of children

389

THE NRA’S INCONSISTENT MESSAGE

31 Dec 2012

Sometimes the best friends of the liberty movement are its worst enemies. This problem is created by organizations and people who are single-issue oriented. Quite often they call for the sacrifice of rights in order to strengthen the rights that they deem most important. Case in point – the National Rifle Association (NRA)

388

GUN OWNERS: DON’T BE STUPID

24 Dec 2012

My challenge to gun owners is this: Don’t be stupid. Don’t get caught up in the emotion of the Newtown tragedy and the emotion and illogic of those who want to limit – even prohibit – our ability to protect ourselves. Take a breather and come back to the debate after the initial smoke has cleared.

387

SENIORS AND THE POWER OF FAMILY

17 Dec 2012

When I talk about cutting Medicare I am met with an incredulous, "who will take care of the seniors?!”

My response is simply this: Who took care of seniors before Medicare was introduced in 1965 (which really wasn’t that long ago)? The answer: Themselves, charity and their families.

386

OBAMA IS A THREAT TO FARMS

10 Dec 2012

03 Dec 2012

Radio host Alex Jones recently ran an “Opt Out and Film” campaign against the TSA which saw the applecart upset at my local airport in Buffalo. I agree with the movement and explain why and what remedies exist for the evil TSA

384

GOVERNMENT WASTES MONEY ON STUDENT LOANS

25 Nov 2012

Recently, the Department of Education launched Obama’s “Pay as You Earn” program for student loans. I analyze how this system will be abused, putting the taxpayers on the hook for billions

383

WHY STOCKS ARE HIGHER THAN EXPECTED

18 Nov 2012

A question that people have asked me quite often over the past few years is this: “If the economy is so bad, then why is the stock market so high?” I answer it with this column

382

OBAMA & ROMNEY: 2 PEAS IN A POD

11 Nov 2012

Republicans are absolutely heartbroken over Obama’s reelection over candidate Mitt Romney. Here, I trend to mend their hearts by showing how Romney and Obama are so similar

381

THE RACE-BAITING ASSOCIATED PRESS

04 Nov 2012

In a recent report that graced the Sunday papers, the Associated Press said that 51% of whites hate blacks. What they didn’t tell readers was the fact they manipulated the data…or that it showed similar feelings towards whites

380

THE PRESIDENT IS NOT A KING

29 Oct 2012

This election cycle, like those before it, has showed an unsettling love for the presidency, something that has transformed the role from President to King

379

THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUR VOTE

378

CUT SCHOOL SPORTS – FOR PHILOSOPHICAL REASONS

15 Oct 2012

Following up with last week’s column, this installment looks at why it is inherently wrong to fund school sports – someone’s hobby – at the expense of academics

377

CUT SCHOOL SPORTS – FOR FINANCIAL REASONS

08 Oct 2012

These are difficult times, and the economy has stressed all government entities, including school districts. Cutting sports would be a good way to save significant money

376

GET YOUR HOCKEY FIX IN LOCAL COLLEGES

01 Oct 2012

The NHL and its players are facing what could be a long labor impasse. Many local hockey fans are bummed by the prospect of a winter with no hockey. I tell them to fear not…they can find great hockey in our local colleges

375

LET THE DAIRY INDUSTRY GROW

24 Sept 2012

The yogurt industry is growing by leaps and bounds in New York and it would serve the state well to allow more smaller farms to grow their dairy herds to accommodate the needs of producers

374

THE ASSAULT ON FREE SPEECH

17 Sept 2012

This column looks at the assault on natural rights across the country, including one in the small city of Hornell, NY where city leaders nearly restricted free speech and peaceful assembly

373

PUT SEXUAL PREDATORS IN THEIR PLACE

10 Sept 2012

Lockport recently scrapped their residency limits for Level 2 and Level 3 sex offenders because their law was stronger than that of the state. I ask that state law be changed to allow communities to make their own decisions

372

BRING ARCHERY TO OUR SCHOOLS

03 Sept 2012

This article promotes archery and the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP)

371

FIGHT 45 WITH 45

27 Aug 2012

370
